Measuring For A Cock Ring

Measuring for a cock ring

Most cock rings available today measure 45mm or 50mm (1.75 or 2 inches) internal diameter.
Cock Rings are always sized by their diameter, so you will need to measure yourself for this. Measuring for a ring is quite straightforward

First you need to measure the circumference around your cock from behind the balls. You can use a fabric tape measure (the kind dressmakers use) to get the measurement, or, if you don’t have one, you can use a piece of string and a ruler.

Wrap the tape measure or string around your cock, going behind the balls. The tape should be snug but not tight. The last thing you want is to suffer from circulation problems, so a good time to take this measurement is after a shower or bath when your body is most likely at it’s warmest.

Now you have your circumference you need to divide it by 3.14 to get the diameter. We’ve done some sample calculations below to show you how it works:

Firstly in metric:

17.3 cm ÷ 3.14 = 55mm diameter
15.7 cm ÷ 3.14 = 50mm diameter
14.1 cm ÷ 3.14 = 45mm diameter
12.5 cm ÷ 3.14 = 40mm diameter

And in imperial:

7 inches ÷ 3.14 = 2.25 inches diameter
6.25 inches ÷ 3.14 = 2 inches diameter
5.5 inches ÷ 3.14 = 1.75 inches diameter
4.7 inches ÷ 3.14 = 1.5 inches diameter

It’s worth taking the measurement two or thee times to be absolutely sure, as cock rings usually cannot be exchanged after sale due to the intimate nature of their use.

Another option is to visit your local “Do It Yourself” or hardware store and discover if you can find a ring with a diameter of 50 or 45 mm. This could be a curtain ring, a large rubber washer or something similar. Then when you get home put it on and see how it feels. Much too loose then you’ll need to buy a slightly smaller sized cock ring, too tight and you’ll need a larger cock ring.

Putting on your cock ring

The following refers to the traditional metal or hard rubber cock ring.
Cock rings can be a little tricky to put on at first, but with a little practice it becomes quite easy. Always remember to put them on when your penis is flaccid and soft.

* Pull a little scrotal skin through the ring, then push one testicle through

* Take a little more skin and push the other testicle through the ring

* Now bend the penis downwards and pull it through the ring

You may find that wearing the ring for a few hours a day helps your body become accustomed to the feel, your testicles in particular need to get used to the sensation. This also helps ensure that the ring you have selected is not too tight. If the ring you select is too large you will most likely discover that it slips off. If too small then you will have circulation problems.

    Hi Saskia,

Ok, this cockring measuring lark. I am either lost, can’t read OR am hung like a horse…which I assure I am not.

I got in the shower this morning, got myself nice and warm so everything loose and dangling. I took up my wife’s tape measure and sat the tape at the back of my scrotum then took the zero end and held that right at the top back centre of my penis, then i took the tape up the other side until i had a snug fit I came up with 9inches or 228.6mm.

Ok I thought, how the hell does that equate to even 55mm, Ok, I sort of assumed that you might divide that by 4 and thats about right…55mm, but no the method actually requires, quite correctly, one to divide by 3.14, once I did that I came up with a cockring size of 72mm!!.

I have biggish testes and a (soft) penis width/circumference of 5 inches, that blows out to 6 inches on erection. My length is irrelevant to the exercise but hits about 6.5inches in length on erection. So I know I am well and truly on the average side of penis size…my complete tackle maybe another story going by the figures I’ve come up with (I live in hope…lol).

Countering all that, my wife has a 65mm (inner diam.) gold bangle that i have used as a cock/ball ring and that works well, but does easily fall off if I make an odd move prior to erection once erect this bangle works very well. That is also why I sort of thought a 55mm might be just perfect to stop that slippage prior to hard on state.

After reading this back, I thought I might delete this and just go buy an adjustable one, but I like what i’ve written so here goes. any advice would be most appreciated Sas.

    Yours,
